So serene? |
How many times today has your life been threatened by a
car driver?
How many times today have you been knocked off, cut up,
forced into the gutter; denied your rights as a road user?
How many times today have you felt threatened, unsafe, or
frightened?
How many times today have you been victimised because
you ride a bike?
How many times today has a car driver wound down his
window (it’s always men) and shouted personal abuse at you?
Do you feel
abandoned by the law?
When do you
think you’ll be ready to fight back?
I’ve chosen
my language very carefully. I don’t ever want to underestimate the threat of an
idiot in control of 2 tons of metal. He’s a threat; he’s aggressive; he’s
violent. I’ve felt the same for 45 years on a bike. Enough! Basta ya! I’m not
feeling very Ghandian just now. I want revenge.
So here’s what we can do. Cometh the hour, cometh the helmet webcam; cometh the hour, cometh the mobile
fone with camera and video facility; cometh the hour, cometh the Social
Network. So next time fight back.
How?
Simple:
1. Get a foto/fotos/video of the
vehicle and make sure you get the number plate.
2. Make an official complaint to the
Police.
3. Email a report of the incident with
evidence to:
revengeridersoftheredmist@gmail.com
and I'll post it up here and on Facebook

What else can we do?
1. Get organised; make a list of the
guilty; name and shame.
2. Target repeat offenders for mass
protests.
3. Demand proper sentences for guilty
drivers.
4. Join critical mass and other popular
protests.
